HeartSync Privacy Policy
This policy explains what HeartSync collects, why the app needs it, when information is shared, and how you can control or delete your data.
Last updated: July 19, 2026
Who operates HeartSync
HeartSync: Couples Journal is operated by Web Dev NC. In this policy, "HeartSync," "we," and "us" refer to Web Dev NC as the developer and operator of the HeartSync mobile application.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, display name, Firebase user identifier, authentication provider, and account verification status.
- Journal and relationship content: heartbeat responses, photos, memories, milestones, partner-link information, partner nickname, check-in cadence, and choices about shared access.
- Notification and preference data: reminder settings, time zone, notification tokens, theme, and other app preferences.
- Diagnostics and usage data: app interactions, device and operating-system details, crash reports, performance information, and analytics events used to maintain and improve the app.
- Advertising data: where ads are available and consent permits, Google Mobile Ads may process advertising identifiers, device information, ad interactions, and related signals needed to provide, measure, limit, and prevent fraud in advertising.
- Purchase information: subscription product, entitlement, and transaction status supplied by Google Play or Apple. HeartSync does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
How we use information
- Authenticate accounts and keep account settings available across devices.
- Save check-ins, photos, memories, milestones, and relationship preferences.
- Link partners and enforce mutual-completion rules before partner entries become available.
- Deliver check-in, partner activity, and relationship reminder notifications when enabled.
- Provide subscriptions, photo allowances, ad-supported features, and ad removal.
- Detect failures, protect the service, troubleshoot support issues, and improve app reliability.
When information is shared
HeartSync does not sell your journal content or personal information. Information is shared only as needed for the app:
- Your partner: linked partners can access the nickname and relationship content allowed by HeartSync's mutual-completion and unlink-access rules. Your email address and sign-in credentials are not shared with your partner.
- Google Firebase: authentication, database, file storage, app integrity, analytics, crash reporting, cloud functions, and notifications.
- Google AdMob: advertising, consent, measurement, frequency limiting, and fraud prevention for users who can be shown ads.
- Google Play and Apple: payment processing, subscription management, and store-required transaction records.
- Legal and safety reasons: when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or others from fraud, abuse, or security threats.
Data storage and security
HeartSync uses Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, App Check, and security rules to restrict access. Photos and journal data are transmitted over encrypted connections. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but access controls are designed so content is available only to the owner and an authorized partner under the app's sharing rules.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and app content while your account is active or as needed to provide HeartSync. You can delete individual photos and entries in the app. You can also delete the entire account from Settings, which initiates deletion of the authentication account, user profile, owned journal entries, memories, milestones, uploaded files, invite codes, and active partner-link metadata.
App-store transaction history and limited security, diagnostic, or legal records may be retained by Google, Apple, or other service providers under their policies and legal obligations. Read the HeartSync account deletion instructions for the complete process.
Your choices
- Change profile, partner nickname, cadence, reminder, theme, and notification settings in the app.
- Manage notification permission in your device settings.
- Use the consent controls shown where required for advertising.
- Disconnect a partner and choose the available shared-content access option.
- Delete content or permanently delete your HeartSync account.
Children's privacy
HeartSync is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information to HeartSync, contact us so we can investigate and remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when HeartSync's features, providers, or legal obligations change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
